Jasmine Barber is an author, avid reader, and storyteller born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. Her love for books began at an early age, inspired by her mother, who helped nurture a passion that would eventually become an obsession. Reading three books a week was not unusual for Jasmine; getting lost in the pages of a good book was simply a way of life.

But somewhere between reading everyone else's stories, Jasmine discovered she had stories of her own to tell.

Her writing journey took a defining turn when she enrolled in a college Creative Writing course. Her professor, Sean O'Connell, recognized her potential and challenged her to push beyond the expectations of a typical class assignment. His feedback encouraged her to take her creativity seriously, trust her voice, and explore just how far her imagination could take her.

That challenge became the spark that ignited her writing career. In 2013, Jasmine made her writing debut with Forever and a Day, taking her first steps toward sharing her stories with the world.

Drawn to the complexities of relationships, the messiness of life, and the unforgettable characters who make us laugh, cry, love, and sometimes shake our heads, Jasmine gravitates toward stories that keep readers turning pages. With a love for urban fiction and character-driven storytelling, she enjoys exploring the drama, secrets, struggles, and unexpected twists that make every story worth telling.

When she's not reading or writing, Jasmine is always finding inspiration in the world around her. Her journey as a writer is ever-evolving, and she continues to make room for the characters and stories waiting to be brought to life.

From a little girl in Newark who couldn't put a book down to a woman determined to tell stories of her own, Jasmine's journey is a reminder that sometimes the readers who fall in love with stories grow up to create them.

Welcome to my world, where every story has a voice and every character has something to say.
