Do any of you not get Tea's persecutive here? This is reality. It's not an illusion. He is reporting facts. Do not question that.
I'm Geist. And I'm a Real-Life Superhero.I've recently finished reading Tea Krulos's book, “Heroes in the Night.”
I LOVED the book, but I don't think my point of view is very objective and I admit to that. In fact, I'm mentioned in the book more than I'd like, but I'll try to set that aside.
This is the most accurate historical depiction of the Real-Life Superhero community I've seen to this date. The “Insider voice” is really what has happened to my knowledge. Frankly, I didn't think he knew so much. But everything I read is true.
I have to say that I was surprised and also pleased that it wasn't just a compilation of Tea Krulos's already existing blogs about our subculture, which are also excellent reading.
It was so much more. And I was amazed. And that is such a small word to describe it.
The depth of research and number of side-bars that referred back to the topics actually had me learning things about things I thought I already knew.
The color photos were also very cool. I love to see my RLSH friends in color.
Tea has been known of in our culture for a number of years. We always knew that he was a “friendly voyeur” who one-day wanted to publish a book about us. I think he was doing friendly research of us for five or seven years. And we accepted him and didn't mind. But he's always a journalist with ethics and stuff.
In his and our wildest dreams... A few of us gave him hope and a few of us scoffed at his attempt to publish an actual book about the Real-Life Superhero movement.
We've allowed Tea to participate in our patrols. Some with genuine encouragement and some with tolerance and humor.
I've met Tea five times in four cities. He's a good guy and I always knew he was a good writer. I'm a good reader and saw a lot of talent.
It seems that Tea Krulos has panned out as a journalist at heart. If any of us misspoke, it's there. If we did well, it's there. We are both heroes at times and fools at others, it's all there in the book.
Tea captures it
