“Why would you go on a pirate dinner cruise?” He had to know.

Her jaw dropped. “Are you kidding me? Why wouldn’t you go on a pirate dinner cruise? There’s pirates and dinner. And you get to say ‘argh’ and ‘matey’ while drinking lots of rum without anyone looking at you funny.” Her breath caught. “Maybe one of them will even have a real parrot!”

Perhaps he’d overestimated her—just a little.”
Elle Rush, Puerto Vallarta Sunsets

“Suddenly, Lisa pulled her face out of the water and her legs started flailing, the long flippers on her feet dropping so low their movement raised sand from the ocean floor. Hank lifted his head to check on her.

“What’s wrong?”

“Holy crap,” she sputtered. She stared at him with wide blue eyes. “I think I found Nemo!”

Elle Rush I got two new reads for Christmas: Furiously Happy A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson and Stitch 'n Bitch Crochet The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller

message 44: by Elle

Elle Rush I am anxiously waiting for two books. I know one is coming at the end of the month; the other will be a surprise. I'm in dire straits. My patience when it comes to new reads is very limited. I need to find a good reread - or seven - to distract me.

McGee Magoo Well the Ella Frank and Andria Large ones are M/M, so if you are into that (and like it VERY explicit--whoa, hot), I'd say that the Ella Frank series would be the way to go because it's done. Trust is the third book. Try (Temptation, #1) by Ella Frank Take (Temptation, #2) by Ella Frank Trust (Temptation, #3) by Ella Frank The Andria Large one is the second book of a trilogy so you'll be left hanging for a few months.

Okay, is this weird, but I put in the Sultry Groove picture and when you replied, some Cookbook picture came up instead. :/ LOL.

If you like rockstar stuff, then the Eden Summers Reckless Beat is really good (Sultry Groove is the newest). The 1st book, Blind Attraction is the weakest of the series IMO, but the rest were GREAT!

Hot and Heavy is just a book that I've been waiting for and I can't really recommend it because the first book in the series was only okay, I guess. But they are about big girls, and that's kinda my guilty pleasure--so I have to read it. Angela Verdenius writes a lot of good BBW's--again, my guilty pleasure. So I auto buy her stuff. But not everyone thinks her books are as funny and cute as I do. I totally love her.

Elle Rush Shannon wrote: "I don't know, I have several of my auto-buys happening. Though what I auto buy might be way different than everyone else. Trust (Temptation, #3) by Ella Frank just came out, Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss Cookbook More Than 150 Delicious Recipes for Permanent Weight Loss by Howard M. Shapiro

I forgot about Capture (Elements of Chemistry, #3) by Penny Reid but I haven't read any of the other authors you mentioned. If I can only try a couple, which two series/authors would you suggest I start with (I'm reading the Elements series but I'm usually not a NA person.)

McGee Magoo I don't know, I have several of my auto-buys happening. Though what I auto buy might be way different than everyone else. Trust (Temptation, #3) by Ella Frank just came out, Sultry Groove (Reckless Beat, #4) by Eden Summers will be out tomorrow, Capture (Elements of Chemistry, #3) by Penny Reid will most likely be out Monday (she likes to release early) Hot and Heavy (Chubby Girl Chronicles, #2) by Tabatha Vargo is FINALLY coming out this month--been waiting for freaking ever for this book. Fly With Me (Gully's Fall Book 4) by Angela Verdenius Angela Verdenius is an auto buy forever author and this is the last of a series about 4 friends. Andria Large is also releasing book 2 in her War series (M/M) War Torn (War Trilogy #2) by Andria Large So I'm spending a ton this month.

message 38: by Elle

Elle Rush Somewhat relatedly, I'm also looking for recommendations of Irish fiction - not just romance.

My favourite series so far is by Patrick Taylor - he does the "Irish Country" series.

Who do you read from the Emerald Isle?

Elle Rush Everybody is cordially invited to a "Lucky In Love" St. Patrick's Day Facebook party. Tons of e-book draws, over $100 in gift cards, and some very hot Irish inspiration. https://www.facebook.com/events/84513...

Elle Rush Woo hoo! I got to start on ACTION HERO (Nick and Ashleigh's book), today. Screen Idol (Hollywood to Olympus, #1) by Elle Rush (Chris and Sydney) came out on Valentine's Day, DRAMA QUEEN (Layla and Russ) comes out at the end of next month, and hopefully ACTION HERO will be out by the end of the year.

message 14: by Penni

Penni Thanks for the friend request!

message 13: by Elle

Elle Rush I accidentally bought Otherwise Unharmed (Evan Arden Trilogy, #3) by Shay Savage instead of Otherwise Alone (Evan Arden Trilogy, #1) by Shay Savage . No wonder I'm so freaking confused, 4 chapters in. At first I thought it was all flashback but, no, I was trying to start in the middle of the series.

message 12: by Elle

Elle Rush I have a self-declared moratorium on buying books. I blew my May budget at the book fair and got 28 "In Death" books and 3 Clive Cussler novels. And that's in addition to my TBR from hell pile.

Nothing new till June 8th, when I'll have a new monthly budget. On the list so far are:

"Shield of Winter" by Nalini Singh
"Otherwise Alone" (Evan Arden #1) by Shay Savage
"Move the Sun" (Signal Bend #1) by Susan Fanetti
"Sergei, Vol 2" by Roxie Rivera

Any other suggestions?

message 11: by Elle

Elle Rush I went back to the bookfair on Saturday to see if I could find my missing "In Death" books ... and JD Robb was completely sold out on the paperback table. COMPLETELY! They didn't have ONE left! I'm so glad I went on Thursday and got what I did. *does sad Roarke shuffle*

message 10: by Elle (last edited May 06, 2014 05:54AM)

Elle Rush I went to the Children's Hospital Book Fair at St. Vital Mall yesterday and bought 24 "In Death" paperbacks by JD Robb for a grand total of $55. I'm going back on the weekend to see if I can fill in the blanks. They're for research - honest! *does happy Roarke dance*

McGee Magoo Hi Elle! Thanks for the Friend-Invite! I look forward to chatting about books with you.

message 8: by Elle

Elle Rush Sample chapters from Kristen Ashley (The Promise - Book 5, 'Burg series, Frankie and Benny)on her website AND from Nalini Singh (Shield of Winter) in her newsletter. Can today get any better without an actual release? I don't think so.

message 7: by Elle

Elle Rush I'm on a short story spree at the moment. They are such a good way to try out a new author. It's probably why I like anthologies so much. I've found one I'm going to glom for sure, and another I'm going to give a second chance to.

message 6: by Elle

Elle Rush I turned off my Kindle and went to bed last night, and this morning it was DEAD! CODE RED, PEOPLE, CODE RED!!! I've had to replace my Kindle before - it was not pretty. I'll try charging it up when I get home. Please cross your fingers for me.

message 5: by Elle

Elle Rush My short romantic comedy PUERTO VALLARTA SUNSETS released this week. If you are looking for a quick, fun read and are willing to write a review, send me a PM or email me at elle AT ellerush DOT com and I'd be happy to send you a complimentary copy of Puerto Vallarta Sunsets (Resort Romances #1) by Elle Rush

message 4: by Elle

Elle Rush Woo-hoo! Shelly Laurenston's Bite Me (Pride, #9) by Shelly Laurenston is out today. I downloaded it first thing this morning and I'm leaving my Kindle to charge while I'm at work so I can dive in as soon as I get home. Livy and Vic, here I come!

message 3: by Elle

Elle Rush So I was in the bookstore today - FOR WORK! - and I found Volume 1 (3 books) and Volume 2 (3 books) of Frank Baum's Oz books on sale for $4.99 each. It would be WRONG not to buy them at that price. So I brought them home and my TBR pile fell on my head in revenge.
...
...
Totally worth it.

message 2: by Elle

Elle Rush I just found out G.A. Aiken is Shelly Laurenston's alter-ego. How did I not know this?!?! More importantly, how quickly can I convince myself to buy her books after bemoaning my overwhelming TBR pile?

message 1: by Elle

Elle Rush My "to be read" pile of paperbooks has gotten out of control, so if I've already paid for the book, I've moved it to my "Currently Reading" list for motivation in getting through it. I don't get to buy any more paperbacks until this list is cut in half!
