After many years as a freelance writer, I'm now hooked on fiction writing and love being an indie author. I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia - beautiful one day, perfect the next - where we complain if the temperature drops to below 14 degrees Centigrade.

I'd love you to come and visit me on my blog http://storey-lines.com/ and if you subscribe to my readers' group (there's a form on the home page) you'll receive a FREE e-book of my comedy crime novel How Not To Commit Murder.

I love connecting with readers and other writers, so come on over to my Facebook page and say Hi. https://www.facebook.com/RobinStoreyw...

My other books are romantic comedy Perfect Sex, an e-book of four short comedy/mystery stories Comedy Shorts, no

I love reading crime/suspense/noir, which are also the genres I write in, so I'm looking forward to reading:
Dennis Lehane's latest novel Since We Fell
Melina Marchetta's novel Tell The Truth, Shame The Devil. She's an Aussie author who's previously written young adult novels - this is her first adult crime novel and it's had rave reviews.
The first Parker novel The Hunter, by Richard Stark (commonly known as Donald Westlake) (I haven't read any of the Parker novels, so I'll start with the first). Parker is a ruthless thief and I'm interested to see how the author handles a main character who is so unlikable. Obviously these novels allowed Westlake to take a break from comedy and indulge his dark side.
Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King. I haven't read a lot of King, but this is reputed to be one of his finest books.
After by Nikki Gemmell. A book about how Nikki coped with her mother's suicide after being in a lot of pain and the whole issue of euthanasia, told from the perspective of a bewildered and grieving daughter.

Don, who has Asperger's Syndrome, is neat, orderly, an obsesssive planner and makes frequent social gaffes. Rosie is the antithesis of his ideal woman- she is a smoker and a drinker, disorganised, impulsive and frequently late.

She also happens to be intelligent and beautiful. I love how as the story unfolds they each learn more about themselves from the other person and in the end, find a way to make the relationship work.(less)

Do Memoir Ghostwriters Write Their Own Memoirs

This post was written by Robin Storey.

Yesterday I was asked, ‘Do memoir ghostwriters write their own memoirs?’.

It’s in the same vein as ‘Do mechanics service their own cars?’ or ‘Do doctors diagnose their own illnesses?’

To the first question, I can’t answer for other ghostwriters, but for myself, the answer is, happily, ‘yes.’

I say happily, because I think writing their own memoir gives a ghostwr

Robin just a query, Phillip. I was trying to add the book I am currently reading in to the appropriate section,(books I am currently reading. It is not on the Amazon list, so I started to add it manually but by the time I'd got to the bit where I had to put the size of the book I'd lost patience! or is there any easier way to do it?

Robin thanks Phillip. I will try to find the time to make contributions to the discussions and share opinions.
