I always have multiple writing projects going at the same time. In the grand scheme of things, this means it takes me a bit longer to finish any particular work, but at least I rarely have that down time where I accomplish nothing. There's always something I have to say, I may just have to switch vehicles during the ride.(less)

I like being able to take bits and pieces of my own life, and the glimmers of what I see in other lives, and manipulate those elements into a different perception, one that involves what maybe should have been and not what actually happened. We are all messy creatures, lumbering along and often failing, as humans do. As a writer, I like to pick up the debris, turn it around to get a different perspective, soften the rougher edges with a splash of whimsy, and then realign those building blocks into a structure that we hadn't considered before but perhaps we should have...(less)

Brian Lageose

“If the creative process was a definable and finite endeavor, we would all create the same things, and who wants to go to a bookstore that only sells one book?”
Brian Lageose

“Sweet words are like honey, a little may refresh, but too much gluts the stomach.”
Anne Bradstreet

“One only wishes Wayne LaPierre and his NRA board of directors could be drafted to some of these scenes, where they would be required to put on booties and rubber gloves and help clean up the blood, the brains, and the chunks of intestine still containing the poor wads of half-digested food that were some innocent bystander's last meal.”
Stephen King, Guns

“He promised her that he would give her everything, everything she wanted, as men in love always do. And she trusted him despite herself, as women in love always do.”
Philippa Gregory, The White Queen

Philippa Gregory, The Lady of the Rivers
