T.J. Kline has been making up stories since she was old enough to talk and put her first into book form when she was ten.

Since then, she has always loved a HEA and a good thriller. When life introduced her to horses and rodeos, she knew she'd found her calling writing contemporary small-town romances filled with love, drama and, of course, cowboys.

She currently lives in the foothills outside Yosemite National Park with the love of her life, adoring her three grown children from afar and enjoying her three horses, four dogs, five cats and a noisy bunch of hens.

I've suffered from insomnia as long as I can remember and making up stories in my head as I lay in bed as a child was one of the only ways for me to fall asleep. (As I got older, it was balancing my checkbook!)

Writing stories has always come as naturally as breathing to me and I feel alive when I do it. It's always been a way to release emotion for me, whether through writing fiction, poetry or just journal entries. I've even written songs (yes, I play guitar and sing).

But, ironically, romance has always been my first love. When I was given the opportunity to write full-time, I seized it. I've been lucky to have several positions I enjoyed but this, by far, is a dream come true for me.(less)

It was a pretty easy choice for me. I started with the advice, "write what you know," so I did. I wrote about a rodeo queen and the western lifestyle. I was lucky other people want to read about it as well. I tend to write whatever stories come to me and what I would like to read. I love reading about cowboys, so...(less)

“She splashed to the surface, coming up from the water like a nymph intent on stealing his soul. Her hair was slicked back from her face, making her eyes look large and luminous. “You going to stand there all day with your mouth hanging open?”
T.J. Kline, Wild at Heart

“She stood, keeping her back on him, determined not to let him see her heart being torn to shreds and letting her bitterness hide the hurt. “You know, I’ve been a lot of things to a lot of people, Chase—a good time, a revenge—but I’ve never been someone’s mistake. Thanks for popping that cherry for me. And I’m so glad I was your first, Hero, seeing as how you never make them.”
T.J. Kline, Wild at Heart

“Why are we still talking?” She reached for the bottom of her shirt and pulled it over her head, tossing it aside in the hallway.”

“You do realize trying to bribe an officer is a felony, right?”

She cocked a brow at him as she slid her helmet back over her head and slipped her sunglasses on, starting the engine. “Who said anything about bribing you? Maybe I was trying to poison you.”
T.J. Kline, Wild at Heart

“She glanced back at him over her shoulder and caught him staring at her butt.

“Anything else you need?” She let her eyes skim over him, from the top of his short hair to his work boots, as she stood upright. “Or maybe you need a few more minutes to check out my ass?”

The corner of his mouth lifted in a smirk and he took a step closer. “What can I say, Bailey? Those jeans make your ass look great.”
T.J. Kline, Wild at Heart

“I’ll have you know, there are plenty of women around here who’d love to have dinner with me.” He smiled as she turned back to him, skepticism clearly written on her face.

“Well, you know what they say. We women have to kiss a few frogs to find Prince Charming, so . . .”

Chase arched his brows as a grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Bailey, are you offering to kiss me?”

“I’d rather kiss—”

“Ah-ah,” he warned with a laugh. “You should be careful. With all the animals your cousins have around here, whichever one you pick could probably be arranged.”
T.J. Kline, Wild at Heart

“Bailey was trouble, but she was the best kind of trouble, the kind that made you want to return again and again.”
T.J. Kline, Wild at Heart

“You are the most stubborn woman I’ve ever met, Bailey Hart.”

“You should probably get out and meet more women then,” she muttered, letting the screen door slam shut behind her.”
