D. W. Towle is the author of numerous novels, including five novels in the Knight Mysteries Series and one book in The Dead Chronicles series, Outbreak, which has become one of his best selling novels. Towle's novels are published in multiple languages around the world with different version of each copy in print.

The son of a computer repairman and a crossing guard, Towle was raised on good values that taught him to appreciate what he had and not what he wanted which is where he developed a fascination with the mystery and sci-fi genres. These themes eventually formed the backdrop for his books.
