A Novel or Novella?

So, have you read any of my Bumpkinton stories?

No?

Oh... oh well. However, if you have, I'm trying to get some feedback regarding next years release (not the next release as that will be a short story for Christmas).

However, I am considering releasing the next big Bumpkinton tale as a novel.

If you've read them, would you like a longer story set in my fictional village or do you think my village stories are better suited to a short story or novella length?

All input is welcome either here or on my Facebook author page:

Do let me know, all feedback is extremely welcome!

Keep on writing...

Writing is hard, there's no doubt about it. It doesn't always flow, no matter how much you write. I'm on the second draft of my novel, have the bones of the story, but can I get past the bit I'm adding?

Nope, but that's what I love about being a writer. Some times it's frustrating but I know at some point the ideas will flow like a tap once again.

I'm also thinking outside of writing about Bumpkinton, my main out for writing.

I have a children's story in the planning about a boy called Dean Hargreaves and I have some pieces lying around which scream "Write me!!" but I'm yet to come up with some meat to add to the bones of those stories.

I will though and it will flow, then not, but that's what being a writer is about. Carrying on when it's not working and making your work the best it can be.

The day I met author, Frank Cottrell Boyce

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Cottrell Boyce, screenwriter and author of Millions as well as the Peter Capaldi Doctor Who episode, In the Forest of the Night.

What a lovely, wonderful man and it was great to gain an insight into his writing process. There's more on my website :)

Wedding Bells

Well, after months of shameful self promotion with my new book, the Bumpkinton Tales: Volume One, my latest website update is completely off-topic.

We've been visiting wedding venues in Scotland!

For me, it's a breath of fresh air, haha! :D

Brainstorm - FREE Download until 10th June

With my main stories being set in Bumpkinton, I do have another story available that sometimes slips by unseen.

If humopur in fictional villages aren't your cup of tea (and a scone) then Brainstorm may be more up your street.

Brainstorm is available from Amazon for FREE until Friday 10th June.

Here's the synopsis:

Clinical psychologist Michael Eriksson makes a living from helping others, but after a series of events he is left fighting to pick up the pieces of his own shattered psyche.

When he is called to an attempted suicide on a stormy summer's night, Michael has the chance to save a life, but will it be his own?
