Tio Stib loves exploring the frontiers of life. He has sailed wild oceans, climbed lofty mountains, and survived the tempests of tyrannical three-year olds. He has played architect, the banjo, and mildly successful entrepreneur. Since losing his sight late in life, Tio has turned to writing in hopes of provoking a chuckle and, perhaps, inspiring others to build their own better worlds. You can follow Tio Stib on his WordPress blog, “Travels with Tio, a blind man’s path to happiness.”

I've found that when I simply follow my gut and do what feels right each day, including acting responsibly and honoring commitments, as well as feeding whatever creative impulses come along, my writing gets done. Yes, I do have a daily schedule for writing and yes, sometimes it's not something I feel like doing. But I know that if I write nothing, there is nothing I can review and impove so I keep filling up pages. To paraphrase the line from Apollo 13, "Writer's block is not an option."(less)

True, with freedom comes responsibility but I'm happy to have that vs. the yoke of dragging myself along building someone else's dreams.

I love being a writer!(less)

The Blind Side Parables 35 – Billy

he was picking up leaves when he found it. Reaching down, he lifted the rain splattered envelope from the fallen foliage.

He looked at it cross eyed, not quite sure what to make of this discovery. Sure, it was an envelope, he’d seen plenty of these, but what was it doing lying on the ground in the middle of a rain storm.

Billy’s addled brain often had difficulty sorting out seemingly simple things.
