I hate to sound like a broken record, but do it for someone else, which if nothing else helps you get out of your own way.

Also, the ancient Buddhist texts say that the cause for creativity is to rejoice in the creativity of others. So I look at or read authors that I admire and try to be grateful. This creates a powerful imprint in your mind to also be creative yourself. (less)
