It is unclear who exactly my dad’s father was. He was born out of wedlock. And there is great mystery behind whether or not our “family name” is even really ours. I suppose that would make for an interesting story. I’ve always been really curious about it. And my family’s origins are quite mysterious. (less)

This is such a difficult question to answer! (lol).

My initial response is: The Wonderful Land of Oz. I am a bit of an Ozmologist and a “friend of Dorothy.” So, I know that I would be sprucing up the land with my own flair, creating mischief with the flying monkeys, hanging out with Toto *because he is adorable* and totally vibing out in the Poppy Field with the other characters.

My second answer would be: The Chronicles of Narnia. And I would either be cozying up in the Beaver cottage with a hot cup of cocoa with Mrs. and Mr. Beaver. Running through the land with the Pevensies. Or getting swept off to slumberland by Mr. Tumnus and his double flute.

My (Q&A) Author Interview On Smashwords

Interview with Trisha North
Published 2016-06-22.

Q:Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?

A: Well I've always been a bit of an avid reader so I can't say which book was the first one I'd ever read. But, I do remember the first work that had a profound impact on me. It was a book written by Sharon Creech called "Chasing Redbird". I had borrowed it from my element Read more of this blog post »

“YOU DESERVE LOVE

This is for all of the kids
Who are feeling scared

This is for the quiet ones
Who never had someone say they cared

This is for all of the times
You were forced to stay inside

This is for the ones of you
Who have slowly died

Whether you’re gay or straight
Love him or her
You deserve to live
You deserve to love
Whether you found someone
Or have heard you’re wanted enough
Know that you’re needed
Know that you’re loved

This is for all of us kids
Who cry alone in our beds

This is for all the dark times
When no light had been shed

This is necessary
Because I feel you’re hurt

Now’s a time to be happy
And you have my support”
Trisha North, My Greatest Fear

“RED

Here’s the red
The red of love
The fire that burns
Within my soul
The reddest red
I’ve ever known
The flame untouched
Ignited coal

Here’s the red
The red of pain
That stinging pain
No one must know
The deepest red
I’ve ever felt
The emptiness
The mourning soul

Here’s the red
The red I knew
That exalted fire
That once ignited you

The reddest red
I ever knew…

The deepest red
I ever knew…”

“BULLIES ARE AWFUL,
FRIENDS ARE BETTER

There will be people who will betray you.
There will be people who will bully you.
There will be people who will try to devour you.
Find the people that bring you strength.
Find the people who will give you courage.
Find the people who will fill you with love.
Because, they matter more than all the bullies in the world.
You matter more.
Bullies are awful, friends are better.”

Love is enduring
It is far-reaching and kind
It will never fail”

“THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH

The fountain of youth is found in the face of innocence.
Where laughter is not forced but echoes freely from the heart.
Where no tears are shed in vain.
Where opportunity is desired without oppression.
Where small hands mold big ideas.
Drink Forever.”
