New Adult Paranormal Romance

Zookeeper-turned-author Wendy Beck is more accustomed to wrestling gators than grammar. She has a conservation biology degree from Oglethorpe University and learned a whole lot of 'hands-on' studying killer whales in Puget Sound, loggerhead sea turtles on Cumberland Island, and everything else at Noah’s Ark in Locust Grove. She went on to serve as the animal caretaker for Bear Hollow Wildlife Trail in Athens for four years before moving back to the Atlanta area.

She lives with the love of her life and personal hero, Mike, and can be found reading, running an independent bookstore, practicing kriya yoga, and more.

I'm along for the ride, which means I'm really just the 1st reader, often left staring at the keyboard in shock (sometimes a cold shower). And I thought being a zookeeper came with surprises. If I'd been asked to write, I would have said it landed solidly in the "not my skillset" category. I was always a science/math girl. I wanted to work in wildlife. Writing had never crossed my mind. Until I did it. No one is more surprised than me that the story turned out to be what it did. I could write 50 books, and I don't think it would ever make sense to me that I "write".(less)

“The cat is beauty and the beast, a baffling blend, a wicked feast.
For all who dream of varied light, the cat holds both the dark and bright.”
Wendy Beck, 9th Life

“A cat’s secrets run so deep that even the cat itself is often unaware. Their mysteries are as natural as whiskers.”
Wendy Beck, 9th Life

“Better to honor the pinch of fear than regret the punch of fang.”
Wendy Beck, 9th Life

“I don't know many rules to live by,' he'd said. 'But here's one. It's simple. Don't put anything unnecessary into yourself. No poisons or chemicals, no fumes or smoke or alcohol, no sharp objects, no inessential needles--drug or tattoo--and...no inessential penises either.'

'Inessential penises?' Karou had repeated, delighted with the phrase in spite of her grief. 'Is there any such thing as an essential one?'

'When an essential one comes along, you'll know,' he'd replied.”
Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone

“Books have to be read (worse luck it takes so long a time). It is the only way of discovering what they contain. A few savage tribes eat them, but reading is the only method of assimilation revealed to the West.”
E.M. Forster

“That’s how it is when a person develops an attraction toward someone. He’s nowhere, then suddenly he’s everywhere, whether you want him to be or not.”
Colleen Hoover, Ugly Love

“I 'Facebook like' you, but I'm not IN 'Facebook like' with you.”
Jessica Park, Flat-Out Love

“Man is the only animal for whom his own existence is a problem which he has to solve.”
Erich Fromm

Kate How far YA can take it? Try PC Cast. I honestly can't believe there's no parental warning on her books. The House of Night series has some sex but tons of cussing. I read her Divine (Parthalon) series - very funny - but there's a book about a descendent of them that is young adult and pretty racy to be there.

Apparently, Harlequin has a Teen department. You should see what's in their list.

Kate You seriously need to bump Immortals after Dark, Night Huntress, and the Rachel Morgan series to the top of your list. Love those! (Only about 25-30 books between the three - no big.)

Robert Robert wrote: "What, *no* books listed yet? Are you /really/ Wendy? ;)"

That's much better. >:) (evil grin)

Wendy I don't know how this site works yet. I'm afraid when I do, I may lose the spare time I already don't have. LOL

Robert What, *no* books listed yet? Are you /really/ Wendy? ;)
