Lynn-Steven Johanson is an award-winning playwright whose plays have been produced on four continents. He began writing novels when his wife suggested adapting one of his screenplays into a novel. The result was Rose's Thorn, which became the first in his Joe Erickson Mystery series. It was published in 2020 by Level Best Books. Additional books in the series include Havana Brown (2021), Corrupted Souls (2022), One of Ours (2023), Sins Revealed (2024), and Reprisal Road (2025).
Lynn holds an MFA degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is retired from Western Illinois University. He lives in Illinois with his wife, and they have three adult children. ...more

Lynn-Steven Johanson answered a question about Uncle Vanya: Is this book sad or scary in any way? Because when I looked what the story was about, it seemed very melancholic. It is not "scary," but it is melancholic. But if you recognize and understand irony, it is also rather funny. Read my published version, as it is much better than many translations and adaptations.
