New Release - New Character

It's taken some time to come, but I've finally released the new book "The Incredible Eddie Reynolds - Escapologist .... and Womaniser!"

The inspiration comes from a genuine character in the family who my Gran described exactly that way (escapologist and womaniser). I don't know anything else about him, so the work is all fiction, apart from the historical setting of Sheffield / Britain in the 1930's.

I was hopeful - and early reaction from readers confirms this - that the book is very different from the Charlie Baxter books: more gritty, more real, more passionate!

Please give it a try. I really think you'll like it.

Now all I have to do is think . . . what happens next to Eddie Reynolds??

New Release!

Well, it's taken a bit longer than I'd hoped, but the new Charlie Baxter book is now available on Kindle. "Charlie Baxter's Cold Hard Cash" sees Charlie pick up the case of tracking a box of stolen money. As usual, things don't go as smoothly as he'd hope and for the first part of the case he doesn't even know who his client is.

If you've read either or both of the first two Charlie Baxter books I hope you'll like this one. It's possibly a little darker than the first two, but never gruesome or gratuitous and there's always some of Charlie's humour to balance things out.

New Year, Big Plans

Well, 2023 has now arrived and I'm hoping that it's going to be a productive year. The next Charlie Baxter novel - "Charlie Baxter's Moneybox" - is scheduled for release in March. At the same time, I'll be releasing a refreshed version of the first Charlie Baxter novel, "Introducing Charlie Baxter".This will be followed by a fourth Charlie Baxter novel later in the year.

I'm also planning to introduce a new character, Eddie Reynolds (Escapologist), in the next few months. The novel is set in the 1930's and follows Eddie as he tries to balance a career in the theatre with a murder mystery. Written in the third person and set in post-war / pre-war Britain it is a little darker than the Charlie Baxter books, though still drawing on Sheffield as a setting and inspiration. I'll keep you posted
