Margaret, a former IT Consultant, loves living in Bath UK, playing with her grandsons, researching family history and writing.
She derives her joie de vivre playing with her grandchildren, researching family history, writing and traveling.
Traveling gives her great inspiration to write. The stimulus of the new helps her creativity.
But, while doing research, she finds being at home, is best.
Her inspiration to write came after her mother died, in 2008. This created a desire to find out more, about her German émigré family.
She discovered her family came to London circa 1860. The archive records revealed an unusual family history that has inspired her books.
Her style of writing mashes the genre; a mixture of memoir, historical novel and family s

Hi Linda, thank you so much for your support. As a respected reviewer, your positive feedback is a treasure for me.
I am busy researching the next book. There is plenty of archive material, that will make a riveting WW2 story. All the more amazing, as it will be based on, life events.

I have been thinking of creating a compendium, for my books. Revealing detail of the archive material for each chapter, I hope to illuminate my family story further. It will be a useful catalogue of my research material for readers and genealogists alike.
Starting with Mizpah Cousins, readers can follow this on the books Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/MizpahCousins/
I will post the compendium material there, from time to time.

Wishing you, Linda, every the blessing in this harvest season.(less)

Thank you so much for your interest. I am currently researching the family saga, during WW2. My Uncle Emil's memoir has been translated. It's a fascinating insight, into his perilous rebellion against the Nazi's. I have my father's British Army record, and offers of help to decipher it. This is just the start of research for book 3, which will be called, Stealing the Rainbow. Sending warmest wishes and kindest regards. Margaret (less)

In Loving Memory Of My Grandmother

In loving memory of my Grandmother, Amalia Lössl. 100 years ago, 23 May 1920, Amalia died from Spanish flu.
This centenary of Amalia’s death is most poignant. Today in 2020 we struggle with the worldwide effect of COVID-19.
Amalia was 30 when she died in the German Hospital in London, her father, George Demmel at her side.
1920, she escaped the mayhem of Munich Germany with her husband and children. Read more of this blog post »

“Sometimes time can play tricks. One moment it idles by, an hour can seem a lifetime, such as when sitting by the river at dusk watching the bats snatching insects above the limpid waters; the breaching fish causing ringed ripples and a satisfying plop. Other times, time flashes by in an immodest fashion. So it is with the start of war. First time quivers with the last strum of a wonderful peace, the note holding in the air, mysterious and haunting, filling the listener with awe. Then, with a rising crescendo the terror starts with uncouth haste; with a boom the listener is shaken from their reverie and delivered into the servitude, of an ear-shattering cacophony.”
M.A. Lossl, Mizpah Cousins: life, love and perilous predicaments during the Great War era.

“People never explain to you exactly what they think and feel and how their thoughts and feelings work, do they? They don't have time. Or the right words. But that's what books do. It's as though your daily life is a film in the cinema. It can be fun, looking at those pictures. But if you want to know what lies behind the flat screen you have to read a book. That explains it all.”
Sebastian Faulks, A Week in December

Don’t walk behind me… I may not lead
Walk beside me… just be my friend”
