I have a goal I try to reach on the weekends and another goal for during the week and if I don't make them, I don't stress about it. I let the characters come to me when they are ready. I may not write anything for months, then suddenly, I'll write a lot for another month. (less)

RELEASE THE VAMPIRE!!!

My Dracula-inspired novel "Hunting Quincey" releases MAY 3, 2025. EBook pre-orders are already up and running on Amazon. Paperback will release MAY 3rd as well.

From here on out my focus is going to be on short stories for the two collections I've been working on for quite some time now. Perhaps by setting the novel form aside for a while, I can get those done. Maybe I'll even find the time to get Read more of this blog post »

After so many abysmal reads this year, this collection of short stories was an oasis in the Desert of Disappointment. FINALLY, a writer who can create the images in my head, who can generate natural and believable dialogue, who SHOWS me the story ins ...more

Enjoyable and mysterious, but it was much more YA than I was expecting it to be which is why I give 3 instead of a 4 stars. It just didn't have the depth of characters and descriptions that I so desperately long for in novels. But, if you're younger ...more

A rare and wondrous treat!
Short story collections and anthologies, from my experiences, tend to have more stories I dislike than like. In the case of "From Twisted Roots", it was just the opposite. So many memorable and well-written tales here.

What an inspirational book for all the creatives out there.
A bit long-winded and repetitive at times with the 'advice' but otherwise, highly recommend.

Hunter Shea does it again!

I've been a fan of Shea for over ten years now and was not disappointed with "To the Devil, a Cryptid". It's one of his better crazed, bloody, and violent works in my opinion. There was more to this book that gory madness.

“The Story Of Your Life: The world and everyone you meet will not revolve around you. You're not always going to get what you want. You are going to make compromises every single day. You're going to get smacked down a time or two, or three, or fifty. Throwing tantrums, sitting in the corner pouting and crying over what you didn't get that you wanted isn't going to help you get it. Likewise, pissing and moaning to other people about it all being so unfair. We're all in the same boat, my friends. You can chose to sit in the corner and sulk your life away, crying about the unfairness of it all, bemoaning how everyone is making you miserable, or you can do just the opposite. You can stand up and BE GRATEFUL for everything you do have. You can look back and see how many obstacles you've already overcome, realizing that with each conquest you've become a stronger person. You can realize that your happiness is not and should never be dependent on other people. None of us is going to get out of this Story alive, dear reader. Make the best of the time you have. Make a positive difference. Make your own happily ever after.”
Pamela Morris

“For me, writing is just as much a choice as breathing. I can quit anytime I want, but not starting again would prove fatal.”
Pamela Morris

“Horror writers shouldn't play nice. Disturb & unnerve your reader. Make them uncomfortable, but not so much they stop reading.”
Pamela Morris

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
Mahatma Gandhi

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches

“No person, relationship, or religion should complete you. They can enhance whatever is already there, but completion of the self comes from within, not from anything beyond that.”
Pamela Morris

“Every great novel begins with a single word. One word, followed by another and another and another. Sentences forming paths to that dream.”
