April Vollmer is an artist and printmaker living in New York City. She works primarily in mokuhanga, Japanese woodblock. In addition to exhibiting her work she teaches classes at workshops across the country and is the author of Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop, a Modern Guide to an Ancient Art, published by Watson-Guptill.
Offering frequent classes at the Lower East Side Printshop, Vollmer has also given workshops at Japan Society, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Pyramid Atlantic, Frogman’s Print and Paper, Cabrillo College, the Women’s Studio Workshop and many other locations.
