David is an award-winning author, the twisted mind behind several chilling books of horror and suspense. A busy little bee, this Canadian writer is also an accomplished photographer and Photoshop wiz—and a half-decent juggler. An avid amateur astronomer, he loves the night sky, chasing the stars with a telescope. Sometimes he eats.

I love to bring what my crazy brain sees to the page. My stories often feel like you're watching a movie, simply because I see scenes in my head like a movie. In the end, it's Just. Plain. Fun. :)(less)

I have so many other creative outlets (photography, graphic design) that it helps me to *not* focus on writing, while my subconscious focuses on it. I come back to it when the brain says "Now," and not a moment before. I think the key is to recognize when it's not the time to pound the keyboard and let the words and ideas come when they decide to. They're not going to come if they're not ready.(less)

“Time stays long enough for those who use it.”
Leonardo Da Vinci

“If we all did the things we are really capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”
Thomas A. Edison

“One must always be careful of books," said Tessa, "and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”
Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
C.S. Lewis
