Goodreads asked David C. Cassidy:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David C. Cassidy I get away from writing if the need strikes. For me, I'm not a writer who writes every day or follows a writing schedule. I write when I write. If it's not working, why push it? I have so many other creative outlets (photography, graphic design) that it helps me to *not* focus on writing, while my subconscious focuses on it. I come back to it when the brain says "Now," and not a moment before. I think the key is to recognize when it's not the time to pound the keyboard and let the words and ideas come when they decide to. They're not going to come if they're not ready.
