My post

Beautiful People,
Happy spring!
No, I’m not late. I know we celebrated the first day of spring on March 20, actually, in New Mexico which is Mountain Time spring has sprung even earlier: on March 19. Yet, blooming season’s celebrations do not start until Spring break, and in NM, students jumped into their Spring break today!
Therefore, HAPPY SPRING everybody.

When I lived in New York City, my sign of spring was in mid to late April when the cherry trees in Central Park bloomed. I used to walk on the east side of the Reservoir and look for the first buds of these trees that usually blossomed earlier than any other tree or flower. A few weeks later, the pastel pink flowers bloomed, and I would patiently wait for the magic to happen.

Sometime during May, after the trees’ bronze color leaves emerged and just before they changed to a darker green, the petals started falling off the trees creating a pinkish veil around them. I loved walking under the cherry trees, feeling the wind blowing silky petals on my face. That was my very own celebration of spring.

Go out, smell the flowers, watch the colors, celebrate life.

XO,
Sharon
