The Magic Pouch

It is unfortunate in some ways that I chose to write my first book as a fantasy tale. I wanted to depict the horrors my family has and continues to endure from having experienced cancer twice. Choosing fiction was well thought out. I wanted to be able to say some things without being restricted by the sensitivity of the subject matter. Cancer does not lend itself to conversation easily. In the end, it was easier in a lot of ways for me to have a conversation with the reader through fictional characters. In this way, I could drag you along with me, and give you a glimpse into the cancer world. It isn't pretty. The harshness is often too much for many to bare. By creating some flawed but loveable heroes, I thought this might soften the blow. Slowly you are brought in, perhaps not knowing at first what is pulling you forward. Eventually, like any cancer patient and their loved ones you go on. It is my sincere hope that you love my book and that you understand that it is not just a silly fantasy tale.
