Loving Not Lecturing
I’ve heard it said the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s apathy. There’s truth in that statement. Having no feeling for another person -and demonstrating no concern is certainly an illustration of a lack of love.
But what’s the opposite of “lov-ing” – the action that reveals the affection? I’d like you to consider this possible answer to that question. Perhaps the opposite of loving is lecturing.
I’m not referring to the interesting lecture you heard in history class. I’m picturing the finger-waggling, in your face kind of lecture, no one wants to receive.
The Word tells us God is love and He didn’t lecture. He showed His love. Romans 5:8 -God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Avoiding the lecture and demonstrating love…the Next Right Choice!
