My Car Keeps Running Like the Energizer Bunny

I drive a 16-year-old Honda. It's been a steady car that keeps on running from year to year for me. I don't know if it qualifies for a "hoopty" or "jalopy," but it's anything but new and shiny. Today it passed the annual state inspection with flying colors. That was a relief for me and my wallet. I know it will conk out on me someday, and we'll have to part ways. I'm not sentimental about cars, viewing them as just basic transportation. But I have to salute one that keeps me on the road. Years ago, I used to drive Ford Pintos and Escorts, so I know what a lemon car really is. If you're blessed with a reliable car, maybe keep it. The next one you buy might bring you buyer's remorse.

Michele bookloverforever my brother in law lets me borrow his 14 yr. old VW golf. It has a little over 150,000 miles on it and the mechanic told him to hang onto it as it is a fine little car.
