The Introvert

The introvert speaks the language of silence
living in a world of lions,
creating an internal world of defiance;
Trapped within his mind, he sinks into shyness
without a life jacket he drowns into emptiness

How can he escape? What’s the solution?
Is it liquid enough to wash away his occlusion?
Releasing the words unspoken, removing life illusion

Feeling everything, feeling nothing
understanding much, not understanding a thing
He belongs, but he doesn’t, hiding his wings

Grounded, but soaring in thoughts
The overthinker? Probably not
maybe dwelling on an idea, solution comes to naught

A thinker, a feeler, a listener
he will hear you out without pause or dishonor
He will understand giving you encouragement and power

But most of all he vanishes, where did he go?
As silent as his steps no one will know
to recharge, to recuperate, to return to the show
None the wiser, greeting you with a simple hello.

“Don’t underestimate me because I’m quiet. I know more than I say, think more than I speak and observe more than you know.”

– Michaela Chung

If you are introvert how do you cope with a loud world? with a world that never shut’s up?

Author’s note: Should have written this one a while back but didn’t get around to it. Was looking around through my gallery in my phone where I found a screenshot of poem I did some time ago for a vss365 prompt using the word ‘Solution’ and thought why not use this and expand it more, thus ‘The Introvert’ was created. I hope you do enjoy the read and thank you for dropping by.
