Thanks, N. I tried putting the full address in, but that didn't work either. It needs a photo rather than a url, I think, but I'm not sure how to give it that.

Good article, Cat! My father was into SF, and I got into it as a kid in the early Fifties. By the Seventies, I was real dissatisfied by the same stereotyping and cardboard characters that put you off. But there were some authors who were OK... the women. And I noticed one man, just one, who wrote as well as the women, Samuel "Chip" Delaney. Of the 3500 SF/F books in my library, 95% are by women. (Most of the other 5% were purchased by my wife.)Sometimes people ask why I "restrict" myself? I answer that I can't even keep up with everything the women write, why would I want to waste time with a poorer alternative? ;-)
I remember reading Dalghren in college. I was blown away! I had never read anything like it before. My brother sent it to me for my birthday.I enjoy reading both male and female authors. SF has become so diverse now! The genre is thriving and expanding.
Thanks for the comments!

Does anyone here know how to fix either of this things? Thanks for any help you can give.
