breathe as if your life depended on it
Again, yoga. Again, what I needed to hear.
It sometimes astounds me how little we – okay I – forget to breathe. Really breathe.
Breathe deep into my body, relaxing my mind and soul. Breathe and pay attention and notice that I am here, and for right now at least, I am fine. Breathe and notice the joy, beauty, and love within me and around me.
Breathe and feel thankful that I am here and that here is here.
Breathe as if my life depended on it.
I know we are all connected – in my energy-coaching certification course I can sit on Zoom with someone I don’t know who is in a faraway place with our eyes closed and tune into all that is and that person, and when I describe the sensations and emotions in my body, they tell me that that’s exactly what they’re feeling. I know it sounds wild and weird, but it’s true. It’s quantum physics.
I know the universe is light and love. And also, darkness and chaos. When I breathe, I know this more, feel this more, be this more.
I breathe deep down into my body and feel myself connected with and held by this beautiful earth. I breathe openness into my being and feel myself at one with the universe and all that is.
I even breathe and stay in the moment in my yoga practice…and sometimes my daily life.
It sounds so simple and like it can’t make much of a difference, but it’s not simple. It takes decades and moment-to-moment awareness and some serious intention (at least for me) to breathe and be like this more often than not.
And it makes all the difference for me.
When I breathe as if my life depended on it.
