July 2026The Last of the Blake SiblingsUnusually for me, writing has not been the main focus of July. The super sweet grandson who arrived at the end of June has captivated the whole family and we gathered at the end of July to meet him. Baby cuddles are the best, and everybody is correct when they say grandchildren are extra special.
I will have to get stuck back into writing as the Milby Plains Trilogy is still on track for the first, second, and third books to be released in September, October, and November respectively. There are still a number of things to be done although they’re mostly the mechanics of publishing.
The third novel in the series tells Madison’s story. She’s much more reserved than her sister, Savannah, but equally determined when necessary. We saw her as the voice of reason in Savannah and Euan’s story, and whilst it’s easy to see what others can’t from the outside, when it comes to her own love life, Madison has been oblivious to the quiet love of her handsome neighbour, Finn. He has quietly watched on, loving her from the sidelines, until a New Year’s Eve kiss lands them both in a spot of bother.
Like Savannah, Madison is determined to get her man, she just needs to show him that although they’re in a pretend relationship, her feelings are anything but pretend.

This one gets a three chilli rating.
He’s loved her from the sidelines…
For years, Finn has watched Madison from the other side of the fence through childhood scraped knees, teenage heartbreaks, and every moment in between.
When a photo of their New Year’s Eve kiss ends up in the newspaper, agreeing to a fake relationship seems like the easiest way to keep the peace. But somewhere between stolen glances and pretend touches, the line between make-believe and real begins to blur, and Madison realises her feelings may be anything but fake.
Then an accident changes everything.
With Madison fighting for her life, Finn is left with nothing but the weight of words he never said. Because the cruelest thing about ‘almost’ isn’t the distance, it’s knowing exactly how close you were.
Has Finn left it too late to tell Madison how he feels?

The next three months will be all about polishing, checking, tweaking, and getting everything as perfect as possible.
Until next month, take care.
