August: Fun

Word of the month: Fun

Just because we’re working hard doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy ourselves too. Make a little time for this and that. My local yarn shop was part of two different yarn crawls, so a friend and I got together and, well, we bought a lot of yarn. No, I’m not sure what I’m going to make with it yet!

And I’m going to Worldcon! It’s in Anaheim, so yes, I’m also going to Disneyland. That’s the plan, anyway. And then… Catalina Island! I booked a scuba trip! Here’s my Worldcon schedule:

Do you see that? A birding panel on Friday? OMG!

So yes, the word for August is FUN.

I also have a ton of work to do. I pulled apart my bullet journal to clean out the dead weight from the last few years and am trying to put it together to streamline it. Finding some old ideas that I want to work on and letting go of the ones I don’t. Nothing is static, the process is the point.

August’s lesson… maybe let’s do a sit-rep? How has the summer been treating you? Did you have any goals? How are those going?

The rest of the month may just be vacation pictures!

I watched Widows Bay. Remember how I said we need more comedy horror? This fits the bill. It’s really really good. Some Cabin in the Woods vibes, putting a bunch of different horror tropes in a box and shaking them a bit. But also a good heartfelt story about a dad and his son and the weird town they live in.

I still have a to-do list, so back to it. Crossing stuff off a to-do list is fun, right???
