June 4th is going to be a big day for me. MARKINGS was my first love, as I know I've said to you guys a thousand plus times, and it was the book that showed me I could do anything if I just tried hard enough.
It is also going to be a big day because I've decided I'm getting my 2nd tattoo on this day as a celebration for my 5 years of fighting for this book comes to an end. I am getting an anklet of beach-oriented things with a center piece of a moon with a sliver moon inside it and a wolf paw at the center. Sounds odd, I know, but the design I drew up was amazing. The beach items are for my home of all homes: Manzanita, Oregon, my favorite quiet town that I escape to whenever life gets out of control and too stressful. The coastline there is my absolute favorite place in the world, as it holds most of my best memories since childhood. The wolf paw print symbolizes a lot. While it is partially for the Iew Keftey from MARKINGS, it is more for the spirit totem of Wolf, as I am part Native American and have always felt a strong draw to all things related to that part of my heritage. Wolf has always been one of my favorite animals and Wolf in herself often reminds me of me, and how I have evolved and who I have become. I know that once you guys read MARKINGS you're going to ask me why I didn't get a wildcat paw print. The answer to that lies in the NEXT book ;)
