LIFE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES (PART-4)

So, after few months her father accepted this bitter truth that one day his girl has to get married and to go other home so he started finding a good guy for his beautiful daughter. This made Radhika nervous. She had already warned Manpreet that all-this will happen soon but he never took it seriously. He used to avoid talking about the marriage thing. Actually, She started feeling it (love and eagerness to get married… with him only) only from her side and she was not even sure whether Manpreet was interested in marriage with her or not.

So, her parents found few guys, from rich families with big business or with decent jobs, for her. Many of them visited their home to saw her. Each and every guy visited them said ‘yes’ from their side but somehow she manages to said ‘no’ but till when?  She could not reject every guy without any reason.

So, she was horrified and tensed. She called Manpreet and said him to meet her a.s.a.p. They both arranged meeting. He went to Ludhiana to meet her. They met in a small restaurant, far away from Radhika’s home so that no one could see her with him.

Then, she told him about present situation at her home. He remained silent. His silence was haunting her. She was scared. Breaking silence she said ‘Now what should I do?’

‘Go home and marry someone from the guys your parents made you met with.” He said little bit tensed.

‘What? Do you know what you are saying? You are saying me to get marry with someone else?’ she shouted.

‘Yes, I know what I am saying.’ He said loudly.

“But why? What about our love? What about our dreams? What about our future together?” she cried. Tears started flowing from her eyes.

“Which dreams?? Which love?? Just forget me. I was just another guy. I was your mistake. Your parents will never accept us. I am jobless, second thing, we are from different castes. I give it a thought many times, now I can’t keep you in darkness anymore. Please don’t waste your future for me. Go and get marry to a guy, with lots of money, & in your caste.” He said what he never wanted to said.

“But why? I just want to marry with you. Its love it happens only once.” She said.

“Sorry I can’t marry you. There is a big reason behind this. I am a big liar. I lied you many things. I am not what I told you or what I showed you. I am someone different, someone you can’t even imagine.” He said and fell into tears.

“What?” she got shocked and asked surprisingly.

“Yes I am a liar. First thing I lied was that I am not from Patiala, I am from a small village near Patiala. Second thing, my father is not a big businessman who owns factories as I told you; he is a worker in one factory. Also, those costly suits which I used to wear to meet you were not mine; they were of my room-mate whose father was an IAS officer. I am from a very poor background, such that we are not even sure that we will be able to get food two times a day or not. I was studying at education loan which is not even paid, as I am jobless. You can’t even think to live in the situations in which I am living. I don’t want to put you in any such tough situations. So, it is impossible for us to get marry. I am sorry I can’t marry you. Please do as your parents are saying you to do.” He said and left the place.

It was the biggest heart breaking words for Radhika. She remained sit at her place for few minutes. She became numb. It was like earth detached from her feet. Tears were continuously flowing from her eyes. She couldn’t believe anything said by Manpreet few moments earlier. She was feeling like someone has barely crushed her. Manpreet was her whole world and he seemed to be a person whom she never knew. How could this be possible ever? She was broken and badly hurt. She didn’t know what to say or what to do. Images of time they spent together started flashing in her mind. She couldn’t believe that Manpreet wasn’t the same person which he used to be in college times. Questions like why Manpreet lied to her were approaching in her mind and she thought if he had told all this to her earlier she doesn’t have to see this day ever. Then, she went to her home with her dull face full of sorrows.

What if a person whom you trust more than yourself… out of the blue says that he is not a same person? He is someone which he never showed you and whom you don’t know.

You have nothing left to trust upon… even you lost trust upon yourself.

Same was happening with Radhika.

to be Continued..

Thanks.
