Unmasking Our Cards

One of the wonderful things about tarot, about each individual card, is that every image opens the door to infinite worlds. That is also one of the problems...particularly when we read for ourselves.



Reading for ourselves can be very rewarding and, at best, can be an important part of our spiritual practice. However, there are inherent pitfalls. It is easy, oh so easy!, to see in the cards
exactly what we want to see. At least, for me, that can sometimes be a problem.


This technique, I have found, is really useful when you think you might just possibly be projecting your own wished onto the cards. It helps provide a little objectivity and encourage looking at
things from alternate points of view. If, after trying this, it may be that your original reading was correct. If so, this won't hurt anything but rather it'll reinforce your initial opinion. Plus,
it gives you an excuse to play with your cards for a while longer. So, it is a win-win-win situation.
