COMMON SENSE
I am a white senior citizen who was raised on a Midwestern farm back in the forties and fifties. Common Sense back then was a prerequisite for surviving. Then, in the late 60’s and 70’s things began to change. Pot, long hair, war protesters, riots, and less clothing became the future of America. Then came hard rock, rap with dirty words, more protesters shouting “I WANT MY RIGHTS.” Before all this, you had to earn your RIGHTS. After the turn of the century things began to get out of control. WHY? We have had only two Presidents with any common sense since I was born, Truman and Reagan. Prior to Truman, you may have to go back to Lincoln’s era. Our country is in shambles and NOBODY, except maybe one or two, seems to have any answers as to how to correct our problem. The sad thing is most people in America don’t care one way or another who wins. Trump is trying to sway the people with his brash speeches. Then, there is Ben Carson, a quiet, reserved well-educated former surgeon who doesn’t speak unless he thinks first. Carson has moved up in the polls quietly, even though he hasn’t had any HELP from the PRESS. Both of these men have never been involved in politics before now. A GOOD THING? Hillary is high in the polls, but most people don’t trust her. Why would you vote for someone you don’t trust? Lack of Common Sense. Most Americans don’t think anymore; they run on impulse. That is why Americans are trillions of dollars in debt. Our government has put us in over 19 trillion dollars in debt with no reductions anywhere. Who’s going to stop this ride into HELL? You had better use COMMON SENSE before it is too late.
