[close] This space is our digital version of book club. Join this community if you'd like to stay up to date with what we are reading, vote in polls, and review all the books we've read in the past. Book Club Details: Meets the last Tuesday of every month in the 4th floor café for snacks, beverages, and discussion. Email kaila@bohemianfoundation.org to be added to our invite list. All are welcome, even those who didn’t finish the book. Many past book club books are in the Bohemian Library. Please borrow one and return once you’re done! VOTING & GUIDELINES It is great to get suggestions from group members to add to a vote each month. Add any books you are interested in to our to-read shelf. Every month, I'll go through and pick a handful for us to vote on. Voting polls will appear on the home page each month. Books we read are usually less than 400 pages, have at least 3.75 stars and wide readership (5,000+) noted on Goodreads. We also have a 3:1 fiction to nonfiction ratio, so after we read 3 fiction books, we will read 1 nonfiction book.

[close] In this monthly reading group, we discuss novels and short stories that rely less on plot and more on the description of sensations, extraordinary experiences and new modes of perceiving reality and relating to others. We are in interested in exploring themes like memory, the passing of time, identity, as well as the various consequences that certain encounters with otherness can bring to a life. We draw on the ideas of different philosophers (Deleuze, Nietzsche, etc.) to enrich our reading of the texts. HOW? Everyone is welcome to the discussion. The only requisite to participate is having read the novel beforehand, because discussions are on topic. Bring your thoughts, questions, and the passages you have underlined! WHERE?
