Hi Laila,

The All Arenas tasks will be for each Arena. Only the Power Play Tasks or Penalty Box Tasks count for a specific arena.

Let us know if you have additional questions!

1174625 Rogers Arena – Vancouver Canucks

You’ve arrived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Home to the Vancouver Canucks, Rogers Arena was built in 1995 and originally known as General Motors Place (GM Place) from its opening until July 6, 2010 when it handed over sponsorship rights to Rogers Communications. This multi-purpose space is also home to the Vancouver Warriors (National Lacrosse League) and hosted the ice hockey events at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The Vancouver Canucks have been a member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference of the NHL since 1970. The team has advanced to the Stanley Cup Final three times and have won the Presidents’ Trophy in back-to-back seasons for both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. They’ve also won three division titles as a member of the Smythe Division from 1974 to 1993, seven titles as a member of the Northwest Division from 1998 – 2013, and one title as a member of the Pacific Division in 2024. The Canucks, along with the Buffalo Sabers, are the two oldest teams in the NHL to have never won the Stanley Cup.

The Vancouver Canucks mascot is Fin the Whale, and their team colors are Blue, Green, and White.

There are many notable Canucks legends including Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Markus Naslund, Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, Roberto Luongo, and Stan Smyl. The current stars include forward Elias Pettersson and current Captain and defenseman Quinn Hughes (a personal favorite player of mine).

Power Play Tasks:
You may only complete ONE of these tasks once per Arena, and you will earn 5 points for the task completion.

1. Read a book that takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
2. Read a book with a cover that has blue, green, and white on the cover.

Penalty Box Task:
The book you use for ANY tasks at this arena should not complete the task below.

If it does, you will be put into the Penalty Box, and will need to complete a special Penalty Box task in order to get out of the Sin Bin and continue earning points for this Arena.

1. Do not read a book with a page count that ends with a 9 or a 5.

Remember to add an additional post to let us know about your completion posts in the thread Light the Lamp (Completion Posts).

Start Date: November 1st, 2025
End Date: Open Ended
Sign Ups Open Through the Month of November

First played in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1875, Ice Hockey is one of the most physically taxing sports out there. The game is simple: 6 players on each team try to both protect their own goal and shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into the other team’s net to score points. Played in three 20-minute periods, Hockey is a fast-paced and exciting sport to watch.

The National Hockey League (NHL) is the professional hockey league covering North America. It is composed of 32 teams, 25 in the United States and 7 in Canada. These teams compete every year for the oldest professional sports trophy in North America: The Stanley Cup.

In this challenge, you will need to earn points in order to beat the home team and proceed to the next arena. Once per arena, you can complete the special task to get a Power Play for extra points. That special task can only be completed once per arena. There is also an opportunity to land in the Penalty Box which could set you back for added fun!

Join us on a tour of the 32 different arenas from coast to coast and get to know the teams that play so competitively each year!

How to Play :
1. Once you sign up, you will receive your own thread. This is where you will receive your tasks and be able to post your completions to be awarded buttons.

2. Your tasks will be posted before November 1st, but you will not be able to complete them with books finished BEFORE November 1st, 2025.

3. In this challenge, you will read books to complete tasks that will earn you points. There will be tasks worth 1 or 2 points that can be completed for all Arenas, as well as a special Power Play task worth 5 points. You must receive 10 points in each Arena before you are given the button and move on to the next Arena.

4. There will also be a Penalty Box task if you accidentally (or purposely!) complete, you will need to complete a special task before you can start earning points again. You will receive a Penalty Box button for completing the surprise task. There is only one Penalty Box button per Arena, but you may end up in the Penalty Box multiple times. You will not receive any points towards your Arena for completing the Penalty Box task, so choose your books carefully!

5. If the Penalty Box task is too difficult, you can get yourself out by letting us know you are using a Penalty Box Skip. These skips can only be used if you are in the Penalty Box (not for regular tasks that earn you Arena Points), you will lose 2 points from your Arena score, and you will not receive the Penalty Box button.

6. Please post your completion with the following information:
