I don't think this list has got anything to do with the ranking or quality of books.At the most it just gives an option to the readers to choose a book written by debut Indian authors.Since most of the publishers do not promote books written by newbies their work don't even stand a chance to be noticed or evaluated. So readers be aware! You have to choose a book at your own risk and don't rely on the ranking which has no value at all.

How did non Indian books get here? For eg Harry Potter at 106, Hunger Games at 111, Percy jackson at 162 and Steve Jobs at 170. I don't hate those books. I love them but them being on this list doesn't make sense. There might be more such books that don't belong in this list

It seems a few of the titles I added previously have been deleted, while they were all fiction and all by Indian authors. Whoever deleted them, didn't mention deleting them (as they should have done, really).

As a librarian myself, I really would like to see a message in a comment box by whoever is deleting books, to indicate which books have been deleted.... Just common courtesy.
