I like to read a bad ending every now and again. It would bore me to tears if every book had the same sappy happy ending! In fact I avoid writers who always have happy endings as they are DULL!

So you mean more of a sad or frustrating ending instead of an ending that is truly bad (e.g. Allegiant), is that right?

I like the ending to be a big surprise even if it is sometimes awful like the book You - talk about gruesome. I just don't want to guess ahead of time what will happen. A friend and I got a super big surprise with The Good Girl. You will never guess that one. I don't mind an ending that is truly bad either like Jassy. I just don't want to know what is going to happen. So many books are the same plot over and over until you could scream!
I didn't read Allegiant so I don't know. I only read Divergent. But please add it if it is BAD!. thanks
You will NEVER guess the ending for Nethergate! What a shock. I still can't get over it. There was no warning that I picked up on for that one.

there can be various points of view. if there is empathy towards one of more characters it might (or not) sound silly, but you'd like a dull happyend instead of anything else...
