This book by Colin Woodard was a quick read and inspired me to dig deeper into the history and culture of the nations he maps out in his book. This is an ongoing project as I've not yet read books focusing on each region. Many are not definitive histories of the nations but serve as examples of how these peoples have lived at key points in history. The 11 nations decribed in the book: El Norte, New France, Tidewater, Yankeedom, New Netherland, Midlands, Greater Appalachia, Left Coast, Far West, First Nation.
