I don't understand why the Twilight books are so high up on the list? They're terrible books IMHO, however, I have no problem with the cover art. There are plenty of other examples on the list of cringe-worthy art that should be higher up...

I like the Memoirs of a Geisha cover, but most of these covers are kind of stupid. Except the Twilight covers. The books suck, the cover images are kinda cool.

This list is ridiculous! There is NOTHING wrong with Memoirs of a Geisha and a lot of other books on this list look good. This is all garbage.
Blutiful wrote: "5 people voted for Memoirs of a Geisha?! Are you kidding? =) It does not belong here, at all."I AGREE!
All of the art in Wolves of The Calla by Stephen King didn't match the text. The artist, Bernie Wrightson, must not have ever even read the book. Either that or he is just really bad at attention to detail.
Anyone besides me decided to come on this list to vote then realized that they DO judge books by their cover and as such they HAVEN'T read anything on it?
Heh, good point. I think in this case they're not judging the book by the cover, but the cover itself.
May a piano fall on some cover artists. Many of these covers are atrocious!

For me, it's not just about bad art - it's when art doesn't match the text....case in point, Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King. The artist painted one of the characters (known for her fiery red hair) with black hair. How can this happen?
Adaptation has a bad ass cover. I don't normally read books based on the cover but I did with that book and it was awesome.
I love this list, although I think someone should separate the SPAs from the professionals. Cheesy is a subset of ugly.My personal least favorite:
Frankenstein - Original 1818 Uncensored Version
This list doesn't make any sense...it's 90% "I don't like the style" and nothing about whether covers are artistically serving a purpose. Being cliche isn't "the worst", having a playful art style isn't "the worst". This list serves no purpose because their is no consistency. It isn't even funny except to the easily amused
