I can't imagine someone never having heard of Twilight, frankly.

I never heard of it til I got on goodreads! Then I had to attempt to get it from the library which was impossible here altho they have 100 copies I was told. Then I had to buy my own copy.

I had to laugh at how similar the books here are to the list 'books I have no intention of reading'And I had not heard of those twee-light books until GR interaction thrust it upon me at every given moment.
bwhahahaha - life is fun
Well, we have teenagers in my knitting group, I've been hearing about Twilight for what seems like forever!
I don't think people really get what can be done with a list like this. It should be for books people you know might not hear of, by walking into a Hot Topic or looking in the aisles of any huge chain bookstore.

The realllll problem is that there is NEVER enough time to read all the books you'd like to! Wuthering Heights is from many years ago...have to admit other than Harry Potter, haven't read any of these! And any would just be added to the stacks I already have waiting to be read! LOL
People don't use their time like they used to, though. Just as the writing books tell you that you do have time to write, you do have time to read. There's television and videogames and Summer blockbusters to distract people, though. Everybody has time, it's just what they do with it.
I am an avid reader but don't post very often. Would like to add my two books to list. CHOICE MAKERS, published 2/2008, RISK TAKERS, 5/08. Eleanor Cocreham,
Ok, call me thick, but I don't understand how the points thing works. How does a book with three votes, for example, have no points, whereas a book with one vote has 100 points? So much to learn... so little me.
Sometimes it takes a book a while for its points to "register," and sometimes the math is a little screwy generally, Gina. I think they're "working on it."
Amen to that.Emily wrote: "I hate people who vote for stupid Twilight in EVERY SINGLE LIST. It's annoying."
Ever read a book where you just don't know why everyone hasn't heard of it, or isn't reading it?THIS MEANS DON'T VOTE FOR POPULAR BOOKS, PEOPLE. gawd.
We've all HEARD OF TWILIGHT. That is NOT the purpose of this list. Vote for books that the entire population of teenage girls is NOT lining up to scream for. Obscure-ish, good books.
Trying to revive this list, I'm adding The Ballad of Young Tam Lin. Fantasy romance (sensual without overt sex) - love, passion, jeopardy (the hero may get sent to Hell - literally), humor, some insight into deep issues. Have to read this one.

Same here & then I purchased the books
As it says, "a book where you just don't know why everyone hasn't heard of it, or isn't reading it", I tried to pick the ones I've read that are less known but are so very much worth a read, in my opinion :-)
