I read a book back in middle school, it was about a unicorn, though they refered to it as a Hart, two children managed to find it and capture it for a short time, but managed to help it escape hunters. Anyone heared of it?
I'm not recognizing it ... reminds me a teensy bit of Kathleen Duey's unicorn books, but I think there was only one girl there, but maybe she did call the unicorn Hart? Not remembering clearly. (Her unicorn books are worth looking for either way, though!)
Thanks. I think it was a stand alone book though. I'm half tempted to trundle on over to my old middle school and ran sack the shelves for it. lol

i read a book some years ago i think there were unicorns in but i could also be magical horses. The story is about a heroin and she ends op at some school/acadamy or something she has some powers or she gets them.
There is also a hero i think and some thing about them kissing or making love in a stable(i think).
I dont remamber much more. I think it is a serie so there shuold be more than one book but i only read the first soo...
Anyone know what this book is called? I read it in elementary school (gr. 5-8, cant recall)and the main character is a female who is part unicorn, part human, (centaur-like) and she finds like a dark crystal shard or something, and at one point she's taken captive on a ship and taken to a city where kids are learning sorcery or something, and at some point near the end, she kicks the evil villain lady (who is pregnant) in the stomach with her unicorn hooves and i guess makes her miscarry or something... anyone know what book that is? there's also a part with ugly, fish-serpent-like mermaids and a secret underwater tunnel in a waterfall cave or something...

There was a series of unicorn books that I read as a child (80s/90s) that I would like to add to this list, but I really don't remember what they were called! It's a very frustrating situation... :( All I remember is that they were small square paperbacks and they came with awesome stickers. ;)
I'm gonna join in on this. I can't remember much about it, but there was a girl who went into this magical realm (And I know that it's not Unicorns of Balinor) and there was a unicorn there (who was male) and they travelled around every his realm on a quest. I know that's not much information. Please help! The cover had a white unicorn and this girl on it, and with rolling hills in the background and foresty trees. Please help!

Were you thinking of Acorna: The Unicorn Girl by Anne McCaffery?
At long last! I've found the book I was looking for! the book is called Crystal Mask by Katherine Roberts, and the character was a human raised by centaurs named "Shaiala Two-Hoof" (or just Shaiala). the kids on the island were learning spellsongs and the 'dark crystals' I mentioned are called Khiz crystals.it's been almost 10 years since I read this book, and I've been trying to find/recall it ever since! what a relief.
Going to continue on on this thread...buuuuuuut I also read a book about a unicorn and a girl some 10-12 years ago however, the book is most probably older than that. All I can remember of it is a girl "finds" a unicorn in her garden, from then on she has to protect it from an evil witch(?) or some evil being but is tricked into giving the horn of the unicorn away, much to the dismay of the other supernatural beings. From what I recall, the book was a standalone, and quite substantial (approx 2 inches thick) but small in composition, easily would fit into your hand, with a dark blue cover and a unicorn detailed out in white/silver. Cannot find this book to save my life and non of the aforementioned are the book I am looking for... Thoughts anyone?
The Unicorns of Wish - it's a series about a girl and her dog and the incredible unicorns they meet... if you love unicorns and you haven't read these then you're missing serious unicorn territory! It started as a trilogy and then my sister told me that the author is extending the trilogy into a series so we're hanging out for the next book here.
I'm trying desperately to remember a book I read when I was in about 4th or 5th grade. I'm convinced it was a one word title. It was about some children helping a unicorn. The bad people come enter our world through shadows as they became more powerful. There was a memorable scene where the children's quest almost ends because they get hypnotized by a magic tree/ branch/ blossoms. Is this ringing any bells?? My copy had the profile of a unicorn on the cover.
Black Beauty should be removed on this list.

there is one about a black unicorn with a cresent moon on its forehead and a mark in the shape of a star on its back leg but I cant think of the name
Anamis wrote: "there is one about a black unicorn with a cresent moon on its forehead and a mark in the shape of a star on its back leg but I cant think of the name"I know exactly which one that is! Birth of the Firebringer, it's actually a trilogy, and it's amazing! The unicorn is Aljan, or simply Jan for short.

thank you so much I had found the cover of the third book awhile back and for the life of me couldn't think of the name I just knew that it was a book yay
I'm trying to find a book I saw a couple of days ago, I THINK on Hoopla. Cover was red (I'm fairly sure). There was a person( man?) running toward the right side of the book being chased by a unicorn. The person and the unicorn were both gold. Not a lot of detail in the image, and it had something to do with "other horned creatures" or something similar to that.
Any ideas? It looked SO interesting, but I was looking for something else and when i went back Hoopla had reset that randomizer for that page.
