message 2: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Perrin I'm looking for a werewolf book, includes gypsies and goes back to the time of Christ.. can't remember the author or name.
Lots of detail on how the pack lives, and the transformation. The babies that are born to the pack rarely survive the transformation from human to wolf.
I read it back in the 80's

Nyx Hi
Can anybody help me, I looking for a werewolfbook I have read, but I can`t remember the titel, or the author. The story: A husband of a woman behaves strange, he has a affair with a female werewolf and is bitten, he starts to treat his wife bad, he bites her and they split. She moves to a new town(or maybe she stays and the husband disapier, i am not sure), but she falls in love with an other man, who is also a werewolf, who lives in a small cabin. At the end the husband and his lover are back and wants to kill her and her new boyfriend.
Does anybody knows this book? I am not sure if there is a second book and it is part of a series, but I remeber an opend end, so maybe you can help me. Thanks
nyx
ok i have found it (with help) it is The Better to Hold You (Abra Barrow #1)

Lavonya I'm looking for a book i read a while ago and lost...
It's a romance between a female werewolf a and a human.
The woman was in a court battle with her boyfriend was some kind of big criminal and the FBI wanted to put her in protection but she didn't want to and thought she could hide well enough. the cover had half a face of a wolf an the other was of a man and the rest was a mist dark blue. That's all I can remember... Can some one remember that or find it?

message 9: by mirba (new)

mirba I wish all this people that writes about wolves and cats and lions would take the time to read half a page of ethology of the species they're writing about or at least watch national geographic a couple of times per week. All felines are polyamorous, they don't have the couple effect. In the lions the alpha female commands, the male is the king of nothing.
All that dominance stuff in wolves is just s**t.

And I could go on for hours and hours about this many many mistakes and errors.

message 11: by Faye (new)

Faye I'm looking for a book about a female werewolf who lives in the city and is sent to a small town to investigate trouble in the local pack, where the alpha is her ex. I only read the blurb and can't remember the title or much more info about it...thanks to anyone who can help

message 12: by Ron (new)

Ron Gilbert I read a great one about a werewolf that was captured and experimented on by a doctor that eventually helped the werewolf control the wolf inside of him. In the book, the werewolf would bite those that had a pentagram on their forehead (not seen by normal people) thus turning them into werewolves. The book ended with the man landing on a transport ship to another world that had multiple moons. I had thought it was called Mark of the Beast but that turned up nothing in my search. There is also another book called The Mark of the Werewolf but have not been able to check into that one yet.

G I'm looking for a short story book about this girl who volunteers to get married to a man that's a werewolf but she doesn't know that. I think it's historical fiction and goes back to the Vikings time... I can't remember really. I think the book cover was blue? I'm not really sure... HELP!

message 16: by Pamellia (new)

Pamellia I realize how much time it took to make this list, but I'm disappointed. Since when did so many WW stories become a sub-genre of Romance? I see a few important WW novel that are not included. Is there a way to add to this list? Maybe it's obvious, but didn't see any where.

Mark of the werewolf by Jeffery Sacket.

message 20: by Shawn (new)

Shawn I am looking for a book that came out in the early 80's. I only read the first chapter and i'm not even sure it is a werewolf novel, but I think it was. I'm not sure of the title. Trombley's Walk sounds close. It was a 2 word title and 'walk' was the 2nd word. Anyone?

message 22: by Werner (new)

Werner Pamellia wrote: "Is there a way to add to this list? Maybe it's obvious, but didn't see any where. "

Pamellia, at the top of each page of the list, right above the string of green buttons you can click to add the book to your to-read shelf, there's a link that says "Add Books to this List." When you click it, it takes you to a page with search functions; you can choose either to browse your own shelves for books to add, or search the Goodreads database by title, author, etc. Let us know if you have any problems.

Several people who posted above are trying to identify author/title information for specific books. I can't be of much help myself; but a Goodreads group you can join and make inquiries in is What's the Name of That Book? (https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... ). They're not infallible, but they have pretty good success in helping people (including me, in several cases!) identify books they're looking for.

I've just deleted the first two books of Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series, Skinwalker and Blood Cross, from this list. Although Jane is a shapeshifter (she can theoretically take the shape of any animal, under the right conditions), that doesn't make her a werewolf. I've read both books; she doesn't change into a wolf in either one, and her normal animal form is a mountain lion. Both novels are well-written urban fantasy, but they're NOT werewolf books.

Big Dee Isn't Mercy Thompson a coyote?

message 24: by Werner (new)

Werner Big wrote: "Isn't Mercy Thompson a coyote?"

Yes, Mercy herself is a coyote shapeshifter. But she was raised by werewolves, and interacts closely with the werewolf pack in her area; and most of the major characters in the series (at least in the series opener, which is the only installment I've actually read) are werewolves.

message 25: by Alan (new)

Alan Wilcox The rockabilly werewolf from Mars wrote: "I'm fed up with all of the romantic depictions of werewolves. A real werewolf would be more likely to devour you alive than go on a date with you. Horror is the only way to write about the subject ..." well what about making a fairytale about a werewolf who is a prince and the only way to break the curse apart from true love is to kill the wizard who cursed him

message 26: by Andi (new)

Andi Katsina If you want to read a book about werewolves in which both lines are begun by females;
The Equinox Sequence book 1 Fur by Andi Katsina
Synopsis
This fast paced werewolf fantasy novel, Fur, is a tale of how the first werewolves came about. Set in 1780, the story follows the Taigi Family as it is ripped apart through the greed of the eldest son, Raim, the death of the patriarch, baron Nero Taigi, and the realization that the baron's only daughter, Aquila, has become a Luna wolf.

Aquila's emotionally torn transition is helped along by the arrival of her lost love, Bruno Vienne, a lieutenant in Washington's army. Bruno himself is half savaged on the night of a full moon by a caged beast, who, unbeknown to him, is the love of his life, Aquila.

The youngest son, Eiso, promised to the church by baron Taigi, in accepting a position as a knight in the order of Agonic, sets out to hunt his brother and bring him to justice. Though he, too, made immortal by a bite from his dying father, gets much more than he bargained for.

If you would like a galley copy please message and request an ecopy of the book. All the best.
