Seriously, who designs that stuff? Fag-hags that haven't go laid in 5 yrs and take out their beef with men on the unsuspecting? The one to "Beaten But Unconquered" actually scarred me for life I think.

The one to "Beaten But Unconquered" actually scarred me for life..."I believe that one has a good chance to be in the top ten on a "Worst Title" list, too! LOL
Ahaha...It's sad when a book shames you so much you don't even look at the summary after one glance at the cover. Even harlequins have better cover art!

I wonder how the whole process works?
Do authors have a say in it or they just go with editor's/publisher's choice?
I would rather have my book cover blank with just a title rather than scare readers away.
You slave over a story for hours each day and then when it is finally finished, you end up naming it 'Full moon mating' and giving it that horrid cover!!! Why did you even bother?
I don't read gay fiction and I don't think I ever will, not with these books anyway.. Haha!! *bleaches eyes*
Melissa wrote: "I don't read gay fiction and I don't think I ever will, not with these books anyway.. Haha!! *bleaches eyes*"Awww, see, that's why these covers are so terrible! They scare away potential readers. =( I've actually read some really good gay fic, but yeah...I highly doubt I'd read these either. xD

The sad thing is I am willing to bet one or two of these books at least may be good. But the covers are oh so wrong, and in some cases, oh so funny. I am still laughing over one or two as I am typing this comment. Are these books like buying booze at your local convenience store? Sold in a brown paper bag?
Angel wrote: "Sold in a brown paper bag?"Yeah, and at least one of the books from this list should be read with that brown bag over your head. Don't ask me which one, though. I have nothing against the author herself :)

Oh my goodness, now that sounds even funnier. :)
omg, I laughed so hard I snorted. I don't understand how anyone in their right mind approved "dragon's egg" or the vomit-inducing "beaten but unconquered".

Angel wrote: "The sad thing is I am willing to bet one or two of these books at least may be good...."Most of the books are good, there are a lot of 4+ books on the list.
And I like the Mary Calmes cover too.

Oh,these covers are bad. lol.
I can't vote any further. I am laughing too hard now. By the way, what about some of the titles? Seriously lol.
I like "The Price of Temptation" cover. It's a classic :DBesides, her other book Discreet Young Gentleman has something similar. New trend =)
The shame of it all is that several of the books on this list (L.A. Bytes by PA Brown, Deadly Slumber by Victor Banis, etc.) are actually very good stories. This is a case of don't judge a book by its cover. However, the cover is often what makes me stop and look long enough to want to see what the book is about (unless it is by an author I already like at which point I go by the synopsis rather than the cover - Stephani Hecht I'm looking at you!).Sometimes the authors have very little say on what kind of covers their books end up with. I wonder just how many book sales are lost just because of really bad cover art? Everyone mentions the first book in the list, but what about the cover for book number 3? Ugh.
WHY am I only the second person to vote for ZAM's Stirring Up Trouble? Srsly people, move it way up the list. At least get it on page 1 of the list. =)
there are some really bad covers in this list, but i find that some aren't bad at all like:1. A Russian Bear, it describes well what it is about, and i don't see why ppl consider it bad.
2. Change of Heart, this one i think it should have a better quality cover that shows better how good the book is, but i don't think it is a worse cover.
3. Bloodraven well this one is at the end of the list for good reason, cuz i don't find the cover bad at all, it is quite well in my opinion.
But this is matter of taste also, i guess.
Adding Crucible of Fate
. Cause, seriously - what's with the face? And man-boobs keep playing a trick on me man-boobs/cave-ins... the optical illusion makes me dizzy. But mostly the face - lol And shoulder(pad)s - is he from the eighties? O.o
Adding
. Cause... seriously. This particular face-on-face attempt at capturing mid-transformation never works.
MY EYES! Quick, someone gouge out my eyes! LMAOSweet, merciful Sasquatch. I've seen some cringe-worthy covers before but nothing like these.

There are some books in this list with very nice covers. I don't get it. Bad or pretty bad is one thing, but worse is a lot. This list should only have very bad covers not a mix of bad and ok. IMO
I think the forced head positions on Campus Visit
make it worthy of this list. It's like they are conjoined.
