Removed For Today I Am A Boy. The MC is transgender, not intersex.

No prob! I think everything else looks good. The subject of As Nature Made Him is not intersex, but there is significant discussion of intersexuality and the practice of assigning gender to babies throughout the text, so that one fits.
I do believe As Nature Made Him should be on a Transgender list and not on this list as the MC was clearly born male but due to a medical mess-up was forced to have a sex change. The sex change topic was loud and clear in the book too. Even the title was clearly on Transgender subject. So I think it's best to remove it as not to mislead others. That book could be added on the Transgender list here - https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2... :)
By the way, I have changed my description on this list. Hope things are clearer now.
There is a lot about intersex people in the book, but David Reimer himself was not intersex. Although he wasn't transgender either. He was raised as a girl but never felt female and reverted back to male as an adult. I wouldn't call that transgender, since it was by force, not personal choice or internal sense of self that he "became" female.
But he is in no way intersex at all as he wasn't born with both male and female sexual organ. So it's not exactly appropriate to put his book here either. And the list is about main characters with hermaphrodite/intersex body.
No, I understand, but a major topic of the book is the treatment of intersex babies and children. Reimer was not intersex, but the doctor who performed the experiment on him worked with intersex children and there is much discussion of their case histories in the book. I didn't vote for the book myself, but I'm sure that's why 2 people voted for it, due to the heavy discussion of intersexuality.
I also noticed you changed the title of the list. "Main characters" doesn't really make it possible to add non-fiction? And what about books with intersex side characters? There are a few of those on the list. There's not much out there with intersex people at all, so it seems like the list could include other characters who are intersex if they are friends or relatives of the MC?
I also want to have a separate list for non-fiction books. Could we have it that way and perhaps just have links in the description of each list?
Hi. Is it okay if I use your Wikipedia quote to make lists ("books with I/I romance only", "with I/M romances only", and "with I/F romances only") ? I just love that kind of romances and since they are so very rare I thought it would be a good idea.
Nicole wrote: "I also want to have a separate list for non-fiction books. Could we have it that way and perhaps just have links in the description of each list?"Sorry for the late reply. But I think it's too late to separate the non-fiction books from this list since it was not specified when it was created. Hence this list maintains both fiction and non-fiction books.
You could try creating your own list on non-fiction etc. Since anyone could create listings on Goodreads.

Sorry I am unsure what you meant by I/I, I/M and I/F romances? But from what I know, on Goodreads, anyone could create their own listings on Listopia section according to their own needs.
