Those eerie book covers showing nothing, or substantially not much more, than a pair of eyes or even a single eye.

Nightmare about The Hound of the Baskervilles last night! The big black dog was more like a big black bear.......too scary!
Most people stayed within the bountries of what was ask: "book covers showing nothing, or substantially not much more, than a pair of eyes or even a single eye". But 15 people voted for "Bloodlines" which show the entire face and hair of a girl. What gives? Please read the instructions and title of lists! This seems to be an impossible task for some.
Probably -- I suspect, anyway -- because originally two different editions had been put on the list, which both featured an eye on the cover, and when they were combined (by way of the "eliminate duplicates" feature available to librarians), the system automatically replaced them by the most popular edition of the book ... which doesn't also happen to feature an eye!
Could be because Peeps and Peepers are the vernacular terms for eyes in some quarters. *shrugs* Just a thought
:O)
Themis-Athena wrote: "Either way, the cover included doesn't meet the criteria for this list ..."Nope it doesn't but I did get a chance to give you that song
hahahaha
Yes -- and a great one it is, too! (Sorry for the belated recognition, I was more or less on my way out of the office last night ...)So -- song stays, book goes?

I'll stick with where did you get those peepers and raise you Bette Davis Eyes
Happy days
xx
One of my favorite actresses -- and another beautiful song!As a matter of fact, I've just agreed to a DVD rerun of "All About Eve" tonight!

Fasten your seatbelts,it's going to be a bumpy night ...
TA, I added The Eye of Osiris. I realize the cover showing is not a single eye or a pair of eyes technically; however, an alternate cover does show an enlarged Eye of Osiris. If you find objection, feel free to remove it. I will understand.

I've replaced the edition you added with the one showing the Eye of Osiris (you can add specific editions by searching for them under their ISBN/ASIN no.). If you want to vote for it again, you'll find it on p. 2 (no. 145), in the same place your original addition was.
Freeman was a member of the Detective Club; I decided to take a closer look at their work last year after having read The Floating Admiral and Dorothy L. Sayers's letters, some of which illustrate Sayers's interactions with her fellow club members. I take it The Eye of Osiris is a good place to start, then -- thanks for reminding me of him!
ETA: Found a dirt-cheap new edition on Amazon and ordered straight away ... :)
