I just voted for Darcy's Story. It wasnt on there, but it should be now. I highly enjoyed that one. But might have to look into some of these as well... :)

I am at a loss to recall a sequel to Pride and Predjudice. I don't remember the author or the title but the heroine is left penniless and refuses marriage to the local butcher if I'm not mistaken. She sets off on her own and is kidnapped by a dwarf and his gang of also kidnapped children who mine in a remote mountainous area. In the end she is rescued and goes to live in a old mansion and opens a school for chidren. Does anyone remember a book like that.I think it is a Jane Austen sequel .
Why is "Emma" here? I thought this list was for books based on Jane Austen`s novels.And OMG Twilight saga and Fifty shades of grey! How is this connected to Austen at all? And the Bronte sisters?
*Supposedly* Twilight was like, "OMG, Edward hated Bella at first-- then they fell in love! It's just like P&P!" I disagree full-heartedly to them being on the list, but that's my guess as to why.
Prom and Prejudice is another modern "retelling" of P&P

I have heard about the 50 Shades but I think that this with Twilight is taking it too far... So if a character dies in some book will we call it "ispired by a mastepiece" ? No. Thanks for the information though!
The Hobbit and Watership Down should be removed.
Just read an awesome Jane Austen book. It read like an autobiography but so much better because it was about Jane's love life. It gave you an idea where Jane got her inspiration for Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. It was witty and well written. It was called Jane by the Sea by Carolyn V Murray.

"Fair Stands the Wind" and "A New Beginning" by MaxineB were published under their original names and by a thief using the real author's AHA pen name (Maxine B).
Amazon has taken down these stolen books. Please do not buy anything from these authors. If you have an opportunity to publicly shame them, do so. Maxine B was considering publishing, and if she does, we'll hear about it through the JAFF grapevine in anticipation, long before it's out. We hope this incident didn't make her decide not to publish.
Authors, keep a record of the first time you wrote your work. You can see it in "Properties" in MS Word. If you update, keep the first copy. If you don't have it now, and your work is not on a JAFF site but was in the past, contact the JAFF sites to see if anyone downloaded a copy for their own personal use--they may have a date for you."
These are all unpublished novels by the copyright holding author, and someone else decided to publish them as their own. Shame on them.
Michele from Meryton Press suggests registering your copyright. If your work is unpublished, she suggests mailing a copy of your work to yourself.

Amazing to see hardly any of Georgette Heyer's historical romances on this list. Many Georgette Heyer fans are also great fans of Jane Austen, and vice versa, as the last only wrote a handful of novels, unfortunately. But it all depends upon how you define 'Jane Austen fan fiction', of course...

JAFF consists of sequels, variations, retellings, adaptations, closely "inspired by", etc. of Jane Austen's books. Most are specifically Pride and Prejudice related (I have read over 180 P&P JAFF). Georgette Heyer would not be considered JAFF.

I assumed it was fiction for Jane Austen fans, instead of fiction based on Jane Austen's work. But Bridget Jones's Diary is a bit ambiguous too then, isn't it? I've read the book, ages ago, but never linked it to Jane Austen's work until I noticed it on this list.
Bridget Jones's Diary is probably the most well known modern adaptation of Pride and Prejudice! LOOSELY adapted, but true :)

HELP! I have been searching everywhere for a P&P variation where Caroline Bingley kidnaps Elizabeth, but ends up getting caught and put into an asylum where she has to look at the coach she used to kidnap Elizabeth. Lousia was involved also by using Wickham to lure Elizabeth. Wickham loves Lydia in this version, and the only reason he helps is because Lydia has been kidnapped, but instead of harming Elizabeth he goes straight to Darcy to help save both sisters. Please! If anyone has read this and knows what it is called please reply. I have read so many variations that I am afraid that I might be describing two different books! I am going on my third week of searching all sites I can. I read it on Amazon originally and now it is no where to be found! Thank you to anyone who knows what I am looking for!

Thanks for this list, I was able to find a JAFF that I couldn't remember the title of. Comments are funny, we Austenites expect accuracy! I saw a P&P at Hastings a few years ago that supposedly retold the tale with dirty scenes. I put it on my Snape-disapproves shelf, lol. I'll pop back here & leave the title.
Okay, it's Pride & Prejudice: The Wild & Wanton Edition by Michelle M Pillow. Nice pen name. I don't think it's here, not sure. I collect copies of P&P and almost purchased it by accident! I have P&P the complete annotated edition, which wouldn't belong here, but surely anything 'wild & wanton' must be FF.
