These books are better than history class. I slacked off in history and still did fairly well thanks to reading these when I was younger.
I LOVED these books when I was younger(Still do!).I got them all from the library and bought my favorites.I even had a checklist so I could see how many I had read so far.I also learned so much and they got me into history.Plus,Im Canadian!
I had no idea about this series, until about a year and a half ago, I noticed them in the school library. The first one I read was "Alone in an Untamed Land" I thought I wouldn't like it. It was Amazing! I read "A Rebel's Daughter" next, and I knew that I had to read more. Wonderful Series!

I started reading these books in 5th grade, and absolutely fell in love with them. Somehow, our school library had just about every book in the series. At a book fair, I bought These Are My Words - being the latest release at the time - and read it over and over again. I've since graduated since then, but this series kindled and nurtured a love for history in me. If it weren't for this series, I'd know next to nothing about our nation's 'colonial' history - and even much of world history. School didn't teach me a lot of what books did. And that's one thing being a bookworm makes me grateful for!
