(Editing this to say, I'm cool with 'they' too, but basically nobody uses it. :<)
(Also, edited to add that i'm still screaming. or was I weeping? I've written so many papers on people's books, and someone is writing a paper on something I did?? AHHHHH!! (also, I generally hated writing papers on books.. so.. I'm sorry?? too??)
