What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Catherine Chant Long ago, when I was a teenager, my BFF and I snuck out after midnight and were sitting by her garage in the pitch dark when we saw a guy (or at least a shadow that looked like a guy) coming down the middle of the street. It stopped in front of her house and then walked across the lawn and paused at her bedroom window, before slipping around the other side of the house and disappearing. It freaked us out enough that we ran to the house next door to hide, but to this day we don't know if it was real or just our imagination because we were into supernatural stuff back then. But I think something creepy along those lines, maybe a ghost story, maybe a prank gone wrong, would make a good plot for a book.
