Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Erik Christensen I wanted to write both science fiction and fantasy, something with both a medieval and a futuristic flair. This suggested the idea of a planet that was colonized from Earth, but whose society had regressed to feudalism over the following centuries. I also wanted to write about dragons, but needed a plausible reason for their existence in a science fiction story. Making them an alien species satisfied that requirement.
