I'm super excited to hear about the new Warrior Bard series! Would you consider the new series to be more aimed at a younger audience? I feel like your more recent series have been; unlike Sevenwaters and Light Aisles which had very dark roots.

Hi Sarah. I'm really surprised by that comment on the more recent series - although the Shadowfell books are intended for young adult readers (the older end of YA, around age 14+) the Blackthorn and Grim novels are definitely adult books, with much older protagonists and a lot of very dark content (I feel the series is much darker than Sevenwaters.) Of all my work, only Shadowfell and the Wildwood books are intended for YA.
Having said that, Warrior Bards will probably appeal to both older YA and adult readers (officially it's an adult historical fantasy series.) The main protagonists are a trio of eighteen year olds, one female, two male, who begin the story on Swan Island, competing for places as warriors in the community there. It all unfolds from there.

Hi! I've read a number of your books, getting hooked on them starting with daughter of the Forest. Some of the books have pronunciation guides to the Gaelic names, and some don't, and I am currently stumbling with some of the names in the Dark Mirror. Is there someplace I might be able to look up a list for the pronunciation of names as a group? Otherwise I will just keep plugging away at it with google to help ;)

This is the question I wanted to ask. While I was reading Dreamer's Pool I was curious as to why Grim was so accepting of Blackthorn's behaviour towards him. I know that at the end he expresses his feelings about it too her but why does he only display his anger towards others and not her? She doesn't treat him as nicely as the other villagers.
